August Harvesting

August is a busy month on the farm! :)

Justin's Boss planted a few rows of sweet corn in one of his fields, for friends and family to enjoy.

We picked a truck load.  Everyone jumped in and we got it done in one afternoon.

Mom cutting it off, while I creammed it.

Our "Big" helpers! :)
Mighty little man.

Packing it away for the freezer.
We finished with 100 quart! All the hard work will pay off this winter, when we enjoy the corn. :)

Dad did some work for a man in Sierra Vista who had apple and pear trees, he didn't want the fruit so we gladly offered to pick it.

Letting the pears ripen

We canned about 50 quart.
Our giant watermelon patch!
We have been getting lots and lots of watermelon! If you come to visit you will be sure to leave with one. =P

This is a common picture of what our cupboard holds for those who wish to snack here and there.
We make watermelon sorbet... Freeze watermelon then add it, with lemon juice, sugar, water, then (we often add raspberries)  put it all in the blender, and enjoy!

Cream setting out for making butter.

Ready for rinsing and kneading....
In the freezer it goes. :)

Our raspberry patch has been producing lots! We get around 2 gallon every time we pick.
We already have 68 quart frozen for smoothies.
Nothing beats a fresh raspberry pie!!
