You know, there are so many different skies...
Like this beautiful sunrise, |
Or the sky before a storm hits, |
The calm sky of an evening, |
Or the sun shining behind the clouds, |
The walls of dust, |
(After driving through that wall, I felt like I had grit in my mouth!) |
Then finally there are the crystal blue skies with puffy white clouds, personally this is my favorite!
Arizona has such pretty skies!
Now after reading the title you are going to think, Flood?
Well I will confess... it didn't actually flood. But to an Arizonian this is considered a flood!
After weeks of wondering when our monsoons were going to start, and when it would be our turn to have the rain that seemed to go around our farm over, and over again, we finally got our turn!
Sadly we didn't have a rain gauge so I can't exactly say how much rain we got, so I'll let your imagination be the judge of that. :) |
Walking in puddles is not only for little kids you know! ;P Most times after a rain you will find some of us adults out wading in the puddles as well! |
I'm pretty sure you won't have to water the garden for a while Mom! |
After inspecting around the house, I noticed a shimmery line in the distance. I went to see what it was... |
..and this is what I found! |
The road that runs along side our farm was running like a river! |
A few days before this Dad had a grader guy to make a berm along the field. But with this much water it wasn't holding so they were trying to patch it. |
Boogie boards work great for running roads.. if you wanted to know. ;) |
Despite the guys' effort, our field still flooded. :-/ |
Behind the barn was quite the lake as well! |
By the next morning everything was soaked and saturated! But, oh how we are enjoying the green! And I'm happy to say that our monsoons are well underway! Everyday we can watch the clouds build all morning then till the afternoon the rain is dumping somewhere in our valley if not on us.

I found the different "skies" super interesting! Nice job with the camera!
