Our First Frost

Last night it got down to 26 degrees.... brrrr!!
The first frost has hit and winter is in the air. Trees are starting to lose their leaves, 

...cats are curled up in tight balls, dogs are all put in, the wood stove is crackling, 

... little boys are filling the wood box, inside games are being planned, school is being done,

...short sleeve shirts are being switched out for long ones, the quad that everyone loves to drive is now hibernating in the shed and the car is being used to get the mail ,  

...there is more and more activity in the coat room, ice is creeping its way onto any amount of water it can find outdoors, 

...birds sit around on the frosted picket fence all puffed up trying to get some warmth, the rooster waits a little longer to start his crowing,

...getting everyone out of their beds in the morning is getting to be a challenge, 

...hot tea is boiling on the stove, extra blankets are being put on the beds,

...in the evening the darkness creeps up on us around 6:00 ,

...Thanksgiving is on its way and I am thankful that we are going to be staying warm this winter!! :)
