Sabino Canyon

I told Sister Holly that I had 77 pictures to post of our day at Sabino. I started thinking that was a big number and thought that maybe since I was tired from all that was going on, I might've calculated wrong. Anyway, I wasn't wrong after all, so hope you enjoy all 77 of them!
We met up with the Derksens and then stopped in at Walmart to get a few things. It was the first time the boys had met Aaron (Chris' little brother) and they had a lot of fun together. While they waited for us to get our stuff and be off, they got out a foot ball and made good use of the time.

Don't they look mischievous?! :)

Honking semis..

On our way to Sabino.

We met up with the Sangers at Sabino.  Hope, Joy and Elainah ready for the hike.

Standing around waiting for everyone to arrive.

Noah Smith (our guide) and Aaron Derksen talking.

There was quite the group of us.

The trams turning around to head back down the mountain.

... and away we went!

Jessica happy to be with her sweetheart!

Awesome view!

Hope smelling the flowers along the way.

This is eagle rock. We didn't go around the other side of it, so I didn't get a very good picture of it.

Resting..

See the sword on the rock? This is the place where Brother Branham looked up and saw this sword. He looked to where it was pointing and it was pointing straight at eagle rock. It is really amazing!!

the boys

A cool cactus.

Just a pic.. :)

Coming around the mountain...

Taking a break at the spot where Brother Branham was praying and a sword came down into his hand. I have personally never been to the spot, so it was really special!

Here is a quote with the story.

In Sabino Canyon, sitting up there that morning, I had my hands up, and my--the wind had blowed my old black hat down. When I was standing there with my hands up, praying. I said, "Lord God, what does this mean? I can't understand it, Lord. What am I to do? If it's my going home time, let me go up here where they'll never find me. I don't want nobody to be mourning around if I'm going. I--I want just the family to think that I just took a walk, and they--they won't find me. Hide me away somewhere. If I'm going to go away, why, just let me go. Maybe Joseph will find my Bible laying here someday, and let him use It. See? If I'm going away, let me go, Lord."
562-1  {284}    And I had my hands out, and all at once something hit my hand. I don't know. I can't say. Did I go to sleep? I don't know. Did I go into a trance? I don't know. Was it a vision? I can't tell you. Only thing I can say is when I... Just the same thing like them Angels was. And it struck my hand, and I looked, and it was a sword, and it had pearl handles, real pretty; and had a guard over it with gold, and the blade looked like, something like a chrome, like silver, only it was real shiny. And it was so feather-edge sharp, Oh, my. And I thought, "Isn't that the prettiest thing?" just fit my hand. I thought, "That's awful pretty." But I said, "Hey, I'm always 'fraid of them things"--a sword. And I thought, "What will I do with that?"
And just then a voice shook down through there that rocked the rocks, said, "It's the Sword of the King." And then I come out of it. "The Sword of the King..."
Now, if it said, "a Sword of a King..." but it said, "The Sword of the King," and there's only one "the King," and that's God. and He has one Sword; that's His Word, what I live by. And so help me, God, standing over His holy desk here with this holy Word laying here, It's the Word. Amen.

Snacking before the hike down.

Smiles!

My awesome parents!

Seth Helm and Aaron on top of the rock and the boys and Hope below.

Check out the fingers on this cactus! I thought it was pretty cooL!! :))

Hiking back down the road and waiting for a tram to come pick us up.

Finally on the tram and heading back down the mountain.

At the bottom and resting while we waited on the others to get back.
Jesse sure had a lot of energy still! :)

Afterwards we where treated at Pinnacle Peak. It is a restaurant in Tucson and if you have never been there, beware. We had never been, so Holly Derksen got ties for all the guys and we went inside, ready to see what was going to happen! :)

Jesse :)

The boys with their ties on.

All ready...

We had to wait a little while till they had a place to seat us all, so we spent our time walking around the little place they have set up there. It is really cool! I totally recommend the place!

Jesse the miner..

Oh no! Don't blow him up Joanna!!! :)

Joanna and I

I love the old covered wagons!

Chris and Jessica

Chris being goofy...

Everyone set down and ready to order.

Notice all those ties?

Uh oh.. They told the boys they were breaking the law by wearing a tie in the place, so the lady there came around and cut them all off.

Off with Joshua's,

and Seth's,

and then Brother Pauls. You now know what will happen if you go to Pinnacle Peak with a tie on. So I warn you, don't wear your best tie to Pinnacle Peak! :)

Hope you enjoyed the pictures!
