Beans, Beans, & More Beans

We planted four long rows of soy beans in the garden this year. We all love them and we didn't want to come up short! :)
Saturday we pulled them and picked the pods from the plants. They were loaded!! We got more then three crate fulls.
Yummy!!
We started in the morning and we didn't finish till dark.
Jared's creative picture! :)

Someone looks mischievous!!!
All the stalks left..
Dad took the long tiring job of blanching them enough that we could pop them out of the shell. The rest of us popped and popped pods!
Makes my mouth water! :) We stuck lots of them in the freezer. We got half way through and the darkness snuck up on us so we put the rest in the freezer still in the pod. We like to eat them both ways and it is good to know that we will be eating a lot of them this winter!

We have also been getting lots of green beans as well. Picking them every other day keeps us busy.
And life goes on.... :)
