Sweet Corn

Who likes sweet corn?I honestly don't know a person that don't!! Jaylon invited us to come down to the farm and pick sweet corn. His boss had planted a row for anybody that wanted some. I thought that was sweet! The Whites (the people Jaylon works for) are famous for their white corn.
These white corn ears are huge and the stalks sway in the wind far above your head. We had to go through some white corn to get to the row of sweet corn. Honestly, I had a very lost feeling. I would never want to be dropped into the middle of a corn patch and be expected to find my way out. I am afraid I would probably do the Indian death walk and that'd be the end.
Can you see who is hiding in all the corn stalks?
Jubilee!!! :)
We picked quite a few rows.. and were thinking that we should maybe pick more, but then decided not too.
We had already left a big trail in the patch and the ears where a little past the point of being fresh, so we loaded up and came on home.
We husked it all that afternoon.
The pile seemed endless.
With the help of the boys we finally got it finished.
Sorry, this picture is very poor lol, but the only one I had to give you a little idea of what we did. :) We ended up with more corn then we thought we had. Being that it was a little older it wasn't the best for eating on the cob, so we cooked it and then cut it all off. We stuck over 70 quart in the freezer, dried some and and then blended some up for cream corn. I had eaten so much corn that by the end of the day I didn't ever want to eat sweet corn again! It actually sounds good right now. Glad to know I didn't totally ruin myself on it! ;)
