Hi Everyone, I am back again to give you a quick view into our month of August. I know I am way behind in blogging, but my camera broke. At the moment I don't have that many pictures to post for you all. Hopefully that will soon change. Anyway, I have this week off! It is good to have some time off every now and then. I have been working at so many things that needs to be done. I am just hoping I get them all done!
As I promised, here are a few pictures of the baby pigs. The Mom "Babe" surprised us by only having three, but she is doing amazing job of being "Mom". They are so adorable!! |
They are growing so fast! I am going to try to get some more pictures of them on here soon. |
They can let out quite the squeal when they want their Mommy. :) |
Another mommy pig "Curly" is due next week. The way it looks she will have a lot more then 3, but then again they sure can surprise you! We will just have to wait to see how many she has! |

Another great happening was Mom and Dad's 27th anniversary. |
Jenny and Micah celebrated their 4th anniversary a day after Mom and Dad's. Micah David skipped out on the picture. Lets just say he was too busy playing in mud puddles. :) |
The Jones came over for the anniversary meal. They are some very close friends of ours and I was glad they got to come spend the evening with us. |
Jenny and Joanna made a delicious meal for everyone. |
The cheese cake tasted so amazing!! |
We had a wonderful evening!! |
Guess what?! Jared turned 12!! Crazy to think that next year he will be a teenager. Wow time flies!!
Happy birthday Jared, we love you!! |

He got some pretty cool stuff for his birthday. The boys set up the tent on the porch and they spent a few nights there. |
A quick family picture of Jaylon, Hannah and little Kyle. Kyle is growing up so much and he is such a doll. They are flying out tomorrow to go see Jessica, Chris and Kezia in Canada. Then they will be heading back to see Hannah's family in PA. We will miss them and will be waiting their return. |
Recently Micah built us a very large swing set. Well, he did have a little help ;) |
I don't have a picture of the finished product, but I'll try to get one on later. |
Our friend, Meda, is getting married and moving to Germany. I know it is so far away and it will be sad to see her go. We recently went to her bridal shower. Her cousin did an amazing job on it!! |
Sparky, our vegetarian boarder, came back to stay for a few months before his master sends for him over to Singapore where she is now living. Keeping him on a straight vegetarian diet can be very challenging sometimes. The longest we have kept him before is around 9 months. |
Green beans, the main story of our life at the moment. Mom has been able to start selling garden produce to different customers, but we are still running out our ears with beans. It keeps us all very busy along with all the other garden stuff that needs to be picked. |
It is nice when the boys have time to sit down and help us. |
Even Micah can help! :) |
We have been enjoying cloudy days which makes it nice for working outside. |
Anyone want green beans? We put up 87 quart. |
The same as last year, Jaylon's boss planted sweet corn and we were able to go pick a whole bunch. |
I brought Connor over from work and was able to help. |
Kyle having sweet dreams! :) |
Micah and Jubilee helping Joshua cool the corn after cooking it. |
Micah helped Mom and Jared cut it all off the cob. |
We put up a hundred quart in the freezer. |
We spent the day at the Salzman's for Jeremiah's birthday party. It was fun spending time with all the girls! |
Justin and the little guys out for a ride! :) |
My handsome brothers took a ride on there dirt bikes up by where we used to live. |
Me at work playing in the puddles with the boys. We have been enjoying lots of rain this year!!! |
A beautiful evening after a rain. |
Micah David was quick to find the mud puddle. |
Mom comes walking out with Jubilee and says, uh I don't want Jubilee playing in there. Well, someone called her on the phone and it was the perfect time for Jubilee to slip away. Mom turns around to find her in the puddle. |
"Uh oh!! Did I do something wrong?" |
Haha... she changed the color of that dress!! Mom left her play in the puddle after that. :) |
Little Uriah being absolutely adorable!! |
A full rainbow was in the sky, it was so beautiful!! I wish I could've captured the whole thing!! |
The sun made everything orange as it was setting. It began to rain and we had to go inside. I love evenings like this!! |
Well that is all for now. I hope you enjoyed all the random pictures!! :) I'll try to get a few more pictures on here before too long, but no promises! ;) |

Melissa (can't wait for our visitors!)
Yes, I did notice there was a fly on his ear.. oops! :) I know Hannah is excited to come see you all! :) Yes, our swing does sway back and forth. At first I was a little worried about it, but they reassured me that it wasn't going any where either. :)) Glad you enjoyed the pictures!

Great pictures! I love seeing your garden and farm posts, they remind me of when I was growing up. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pictures, loved them all!! It's SO green and pretty there right now! I remember those evenings, Joylin... You definitely cannot put a price on them!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing all the pictures. So much happening there on the farm. I'm glad you all can work together putting away the produce. Our 2 pigs just left today for the 4-H show and sale, which we call EXPO up here. I'm glad to see them go. They stink and attract way too many flies. :) How do you all control the fly situation?
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay, Sis Elisabeth! Check out the newest post for details on our fly traps. :)
